Your healthcare whilst studying 

 
 
There will be a surcharge applied at the application stage. If students pay the surcharge they will then be eligible for free NHS treatment. 
 
Students will be able to check how much they need to pay on the website: www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigration-application/pay 
 
If students have a time limit on their immigration or visa for their stay in the UK, they are then classed as overseas visitors and will have to pay for hospital treatment. If they are staying for up to 6 months, they do not need to pay a health surcharge however they must take out a health insurance. 
 
 
 
Students may need to pay for GP consultation services, medicines, vaccination for travel and obtaining a sick note
